Title:"The Scratch card and my mother".

Title: “The scratch card and my mother”.

This morning I wake up with my leg less sore. I go to the ONCE kiosk to collect yesterday’s coupon and the Triplex; in total, nine euros. I buy a millionaire scratch card: a new one, for five euros; with the four leftover euros, I have breakfast.

I return home wanting to play the new 10-euro megas; I mention it to my mother.

My mother says: “Well, go to the bank, take out money and buy the scratch cards.” With my good fortune, I got 40. My mother got nothing. She gave me half so I buy the Euromillon from the club; with the other 20 euros, I go to another kiosk to buy, but they didn’t have any. Doesn’t matter, I go a few meters further, where there is another kiosk where I never win anything, and I buy two new megas of 10 consecutive euros.

I come home anxious, with a sore leg, and I scratch my card. Nothing! My mother comes and scratches hers and says: “I can’t believe it: 1,000 euros!”. With skepticism, I check it out and yes, she had number 2: 1000 euros. I jump with joy, like my mother, because, since we play halfway, 500 are for me.

I was already dreaming about buying a laptop and even a quick trip to Gran Canaria to see my friend Juani. I was happier than a child on the Three Wise Men Day.

I go to the ONCE kiosk and tell the kiosk owner what happened. The boy is happy for me and tells me that I must collect it at La Caixa. Doesn’t matter, like a champion, I return home, thinking that my sister has an account at La Caixa and that we will collect it later.

When I get home, my mother gives me the bad news: “Look, I didn’t scratch well, and it wasn’t a 2 but a 27.”

I couldn’t believe it. Goodbye to the laptop and the quick trip to see Juani, who I fancy.

My mother laughed and, to console me, gave me 20 euros, and I returned to the kiosk for another two new megas.

We won 20 euros and I decided to play it in the Euromillion, since there is a jackpot of 130 million. Who knows, maybe I have better luck and seduce Juani. That would be my real lottery!
